Haiku: Soft blossoms embrace monuments

Delicate pink stay
Cherry softens hard granite
Wind takes your presence

Haiku: Cherry Blossoms

Stay closed pink puffy

Braving the late winter winds

Patiently waiting

Rain wet cherry blossoms yet to open
Rain wet cherry blossoms
yet to open

The National Park Service predicts that the cherry blossoms will reach peak bloom sometime between March 19 and 22. They revised their forecast on March 8 in light of colder than expected temperatures forecast for the coming week. Their initial prediction, issued on March 1, was for March 14 to 17.
