Every year, pilgrims and tourists from around the world climb on the slopes of Croagh Patrick in County Mayo, the holy mountain where St. Patrick is said to have fasted for 40 days and nights as he wrestled with demons who came to him in the form of blackbirds.
St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. Fascinating facts here about this Christian missionary given credited with converting Ireland to Christianity in the AD 400s. So many legends surround his life that the truth is not easily found.

How wonderful! I did not climb but I studied & got into this very special place. It’s been 2 years and would love to go back again💚

Me too GB. The day we climbed this mountain we literally (in the correct use of this word) had the entire mountain to ourselves. It was amazing.

The really tough (devoted) pilgrims do it in their bare feet.
