Ever wonder why there is a Memorial Day. Well, read and thank Mary Logan… a woman who observed, with caring and emotional eyes…first hand the devastation left on the landscape immediately following the Civil War.
“British artists Jamie Wardley and Andy Moss accompanied by numerous volunteers, took to the beaches of Normandy with rakes and stencils in hand to etch 9,000 silhouettes representing fallen people into the sand. The original team consisted of 60 volunteers, but as word spread nearly 500 additional local residents arrived to help with the tribute to “The Fallen 9,000”.
Hear the bagpipes chant Amazing Grace and remember The Fallen.
My golden retriever heart has heaps of pride for the coming Memorial Day. American flags are already flying in my neighborhood…the red, white and blue will wave in the breeze throughout my community…store fronts, restaurants, gas stations…lining the avenues and streets with the “stars and stripes.”
This is quite a sight to see…I am told. Yeah, I can’t go there…but I understand..

only service dogs are permitted and yes…I will respect and honor these rules. It’s my way of showing my respect to our honored fallen heroes. Paws up with gratitude for those who gave it all to keep us safe and free.
