Golden Brodie warns about hot summer surfaces and paws

Hot summer days are just around the corner..so look out for “man’s best friend” and their paws.

“Pavement, asphalt, wood, metal, sand and car or truck surfaces can become very hot during the summer months. These materials absorb heat from the sun and can stay hot for hours even after the sun has gone down. Temperatures on these surfaces can exceed 145° F!”

Check out these tips for keeping Fido’s paws cool.  Paws up!

Brodie shares with National Pride “Flags In”

My golden retriever heart has heaps of pride for the coming Memorial Day.  American flags are already flying in my neighborhood…the red, white and blue will wave in the breeze throughout my community…store fronts, restaurants, gas stations…lining the avenues and streets with the “stars and stripes.”

Arlington National Cemetery has already put “Flags In” honoring America’s fallen heroes.  Since 1948, The Old Guard has placed American flags at gravesites…this year more than 228,000 flags.

This is quite a sight to see…I am told.  Yeah, I can’t go there…but I understand..

only service dogs are permitted and yes…I will respect and honor these rules.  It’s my way of showing my respect to our honored fallen heroes.  Paws up with gratitude for those who gave it all to keep us safe and free.
