Brodie barks his head off: The Big Top…gone…what about the animals

I gotta admit that I was not very good at being in a kennel. Just me…my golden self wanted space…so when I heard that the “Greatest Show on Earth” closed…my retriever heart celebrated for all of the many animals that had spent their lives in crates and cages…or tethered on chains…traveling from here to there.

And now my golden heart worries where these beautiful wild animals will find a home…where will they go…who will offer the care needed as they live out their wild lives…I say give these incredible survivors peace and a natural environment…free to roam…a golden please on this one. And a shout out to those who work toward this goal…those who are the protectors of all gods creatures.

These beauties are resistant to many of the diseases that frequently plague flowering dogwoods and they offer seasonal changes on the landscape.

Golden Brodie barks on…moving and pets…

Now is “the time to sell a home”…that’s what my retriever dog ears hear anyway. Spring has sprung, kids will be out of school soon…folks are making their moves.  But the family dog could be clueless and possibly not prepared to relocate the dog bed.

If you’re not selling, you might just know someone who is.  If they have a dog…you might want to share some insights into how moves possibly impact pets and how to help pets deal with relocation.  Paws up for caring and being mindful of our four-legged friends.

Golden Brodie shares: Dogs that dig the past

Yes… digging is part of many dogs lives…but…there are dogs that get into locating bones that are hundreds of years old…yep…archaeology on four legs.  These dogs have such self-control…once they find bones…they back off…moon walk backwards and NEVER touch the bones.  Can you image that one?  Read on for golden enlightenment.  Bones them bones…them dry bones.

Uncomplicated thoughts: The they

Well… they say that…

Who they?

Uncomplicated Thoughts: Choosing your words

Words carry more than a definition

Words carry feelings

Choose your words

Brodie’s History Nuggets: old is new again?!

Stop, look and golden listen…there is not a day that goes by that I do not hear about fake news…fake news on this side…fake news from that side…fake news rolling in the middle…

Just want you to know that fake news was alive and well during George Washington‘s time.  That’s right…I mean that is correct…General George Washington experienced slander through forged letters that attempted to undermine his commitment to winning the Revolutionary War and freeing the colonies from the heavy and oppressive rule of King George III.  Interesting that these slanders seem to have been an inside job from a Loyalist, who fled to England and died there. But even more interesting, Gen. Washington went on to become President Washington, the first president of the United States of America.  Now that was a genuine golden beginning…

Uncomplicated thoughts: Self-acceptance

Embrace what you can do
Embrace what you can not do
Both present a path

self-acceptance…the ability to love yourself unconditionally, no matter what traits and flaws exist.

Brodie barks about dogs going to 9-5

You might not like going to your work…getting up…commuting…commuting back…then get up and do it again.  Well, I gotta tell you dogs see it this way…many do not like watching their owners get up…unhappy…sucking on a cup of coffee…then walking at the dog-poop pace…then closing the door behind them… so the work day can begin…staying & waiting for the door to open.  It’s a lonely drag for dogs.  So, here comes the U.S. Department of Interior…(Mind you I am not a political creature.)…wanting to allow their employees…on Fridays…to bring their dog to work!  It’s a trial…its a let us see if this helps create a “happy” department!!! How golden cool is that?!

So, get out of the way…pour me some java…get the poop thing going and off WE go!  Nobody left at home to see that door close.  Paws up on this one.

Why allowing dogs in the office is a good idea.
